Do I lose my foreign citizenship by becoming a permanent resident of the United States?

Permanent residency in the United States does not normally result in the loss of your foreign citizenship. That is because permanent residency in the United States is not the same thing as becoming a US citizen. Becoming a US citizen could result in the loss of foreign citizenship but it depends on the laws of the foreign country. It is always a good idea to discuss this issue with a legal professional in the specific country.
